TPS Advanced Direct Posting

Powered by Ternpoint
Determine whether a general ledger can be used in a sales, purchase, service, or journal posting transaction when direct posting is active.

Control use of general ledger accounts on sales, purchase, service, or journal entry transactions.

Places restriction on whether your account is intended for use on sales lines, purchase lines, service order lines or journals (both standard and recurring). You can identify your intended account use at the time of setup by adding the source posting type permission to your G/L Account Card.

Why should you be concerned about your general ledger?

Typically, when direct posting is activated on a general ledger account there is no given control as to whether the account can only be used with a purchase, sales, service, or journal transaction. That is a primary reason why accounting teams are opposed to opening accounts for direct posting. This app allows you to control and limit the function of your G/L Account Card.

  • Allow your Accounting and Financial team a greater degree of control
  • Prevent errant postings to general ledger accounts
  • Restrict accounts to their intended posting purpose
  • Reduce reconciliation and transaction corrections
  • Assist users by ensuring the correct account is used before posting
  • Save time by keeping your general ledger accounts accurate from the start
  • Limit delays in posting transactions, keeping finance and inventory in sync
