Places restriction on whether your account is intended for use on sales lines, purchase lines, service order lines or journals (both standard and recurring). You can identify your intended account use at the time of setup by adding the source posting type permission to your G/L Account Card.

Typically, when direct posting is activated on a general ledger account there is no given control as to whether the account can only be used with a purchase, sales, service, or journal transaction.
