Track historical costs prior to each standard cost update cycle
On top of tracking historical standard costs at the time of implementation from the standard worksheet, you can also choose when to permit or prohibit edits to the standard cost, indirect cost %, and overhead rate fields on the item card. This setup ensures that the functions on the standard cost worksheet are used to roll and implement standard cost changes rather than a user directly editing the fields directly on item card. You will also have greater visibility into some of the hidden rolled-up and single-level cost fields on the item card.
When you use Standard Cost as a costing method in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can update the standard cost, indirect cost %, and overhead rate fields directly on the item card.
